Story
It's been almost 12 years since my last Ironman event and I've finally decided to bring the Ironlady out of hybernation and take on the Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth on 15th September. In addition to the enormous challenge of fitting my training around two mischievous children, work, family life and other commitments, I have decided to raise funds for a very meaningful charity.
I will be fundraising for Alzheimer's Research UK. With almost 1 million documented cases of Dementia in the UK, it is likely that most people reading this will know someone close to them who suffers from dementia, which is a degenerative disorder interfering with the correct functioning of the brain. Alzheimer's Research works to revolutionise the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia; striving for a cure!
